In our meeting, we can cover 1-2 of the following tasks:

  • Website updates: Want to add a blog post or new service to your website? We can do that or make the tweaks to your website's content that have been on your list.
  • Email Marketing: We can draft and schedule a monthly/quarterly newsletter or work on your automated welcome email automation.
  • Social Media: We can either create a social media content calendar with ideas for 10-12 posts for the upcoming month, or we can plan, create and schedule 3-4 posts from start to finish.
  • SEO: We can't optimize your entire website in one session, but we can analyze how effective your SEO is or make updates to one page to make it more visible to Google and other search engines.
  • Reviews & Reputation Management: Need to get more reviews? We can come up with a game plan to grow your reviews and can strategize how to respond to negative reviews.
  • Event Planning & Networking: Whether you have an event you need to plan or want to put yourself out there, I can help create a plan of action.
  • Analyzing The Analytics: You've been trying some marketing activities and want to see how things are working but it's a whole bunch of data, acronyms, and charts that don't make sense. I can help you translate that into everyday terms and figure out what's working for you.
  • Print Material: Update your business cards or create a thank you postcard to send to clients for the holidays.
  • General Business & Marketing Coaching: Sometimes you just need a voice on the other end of the Zoom meeting (or coffee if you're in the Boulder/Denver area) to let you know that you're on the right path and offer some ideas and perspective.

What is this actually going to cost me?

A Marketing Power Hour session costs $179. If you commit to an annual plan of monthly sessions, that comes down to $149 per session.

The better question is what is the cost to your time.

Marketing Power Hours were created as I saw a need in the market for accountability, technical marketing support, and empowerment. All too often, marketing tasks fall to the bottom of the to-do list. What takes you 1-2 hours, may only take me 5-10 minutes (this is what I do for a living). Ultimately, the real advantage of this system is that you get to see how things are created, get to bounce ideas off of a marketing expert in real time, and can analyze how your efforts are performing so you can leave feeling empowered to market your business.

Does anyone actually do this?

Michael did a fantastic job creating an entire marketing plan for my small business. I had ideas about my business but they were scattered and not cohesive. He took the time to listen and was able to sift through my mess to put together a website, logo, new company name, and mission statement that was a reflection of me. His concern for not only the marketing aspect but also the values I wanted for my business and customers is what sets him apart. He is an absolute recommend for anyone who wants to take their small business to the next level.

Nick

Michael is both teacher and technician. He asks me the right questions and actively listens to what my concerns and needs are around digital marketing offerings. Michael coached me through some trouble spots on our website which allowed me to work independently on edits and updates while he oversees our email newsletters and other campaigns. This has freed me up to focus on a very important aspect of running daily operations, our customers! I am grateful for Michael's support and I trust and value his guidance.

Leslie

Michael is easy to work with, a good communicator, a great listener, and is incredibly creative. I felt heard and received when I shared my ideas, and I found it helpful and supportive that he asked the right questions to help me create content. Michael's familiarity with various programs meant that he was able to find and include features I wanted and build what I envisioned. His experience is priceless, and as a result I have a simple and straightforward, yet informative and beautiful, website.

Who is this Marketing Handyman anyway?

I founded The Marketing Handyman because he wanted to change the way small business owners thought about marketing agencies and consultants.

With a background in teaching and holding just about every position in a summer camp, I am a natural educator who has a knack for finding creative ways to approach marketing your business, services, or nonprofit mission. After studying marketing in college, I eventually landed in Colorado with a job in the nonprofit world, working my way up from the front desk concierge to the Marketing Director. I subsequently went to work at a digital marketing agency where I helped small businesses grow and learned the value of scalable systems, processes, and knowing the right questions to ask.

Now I want to share my knowledge, creativity, and experience with you! I would not be able to do this without the support of my family – my wife Katie and daughter Zoe provide constant inspiration, and my puppy Baxter contributes when he’s not sleeping!
